The Department of Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate (AC2) is a research department within CSIC´s Institute of Physical Chemistry Blas Cabrera (IQF). AC2 research efforts are directed at studying the role of atmospheric composition and chemistry in the climate system. We invite applications for one postdoctoral position on chemistry-climate interactions modelling.
The Postdoctoral Candidate is expected to:
- Contribute with the development and use of the Community Earth System model (CESM).
- As a part of a multidisciplinary group of scientists, she/he will interact closely with other group members working on atmospheric chemistry-climate modelling.
- Disseminate research results in peer review journals and at international conferences.
Interested candidates must have:
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (atmospheric chemistry, climate, physics, Earth system Models).
- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
- Interest in atmospheric chemistry, climate and atmospheric dynamics and chemistry modelling.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience in modelling with Fortran 90 and parallel computation frameworks such as MPI and/or OpenMP.
- Prior research experience in using global/regional circulation models or chemistry-climate models.
- Experience with data analysis and visualisation software (e.g. IDL, MATLAB, PYTHON).
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and is based on the CSIC salary scale.

El grupo de Química Atmosférica y Clima (AC2) del Instituto de Química-Física Rocasolano (IQFR) es un grupo de investigación de reciente creación. AC2 inició sus actividades en Septiembre de 2009 en Toledo, como Unidad Mixta CIAC (Laboratorio de Ciencias de la Atmósfera y el Clima) en las áreas de investigación de composición y química atmosférica y clima, trasladándose al IQFR en diciembre de 2012.
La persona contratada será responsable de las actividades de mantenimiento y puesta a punto del instrumento Long-Path DOAS (LP-DOAS). También se encargará de la logística de preparación de campañas de medida dicho instrumento.
Condiciones generales de la convocatoria:
- Edad: entre 16 y 25 años, o menores de 30 en el caso de personas con discapacidad superior al 33%.
- Titulación: Titulado Técnico o Técnico Superior.
- Requisititos del contratado: estar inscrito en el fichero del Sistema Nacional de Garantía Juvenil, y estar empadronado en la CAM.
- Duración del contrato: 2 años.
